The Mystries of the Roasy

This week we are look we are looking at the rour mysties of the roasy because it is octeber the month of Mary. The three Mystries are called The Joyful mystries, The Sorrowful mystries, The Glorius mystries and The Lumonis mystries. We made a google drawing for one story in each of the mystries then we put it on a slide together. This is my slide.

The Production

My favourite moment was the first tech rehersel we did when we had mics and the wings and lights.

To perfom to the whole audince and don’t have your back to them.

Orphan boy escapes workhouse and joins a pickpocket gang. He gets caught and taken to a home then gets stolen back by the gang. He goes to rob a house and gets caught on purpose to save his friends. Then the police come and aresst the gang leader Fagin and they all live happily ever after.

My favourite scene was the police oficer scene.

Remarkble Reading

Last week in reading we had to pick from three diffrent subjects to read about then do a create on. The options were Zoos being good or bad, are electric cars the future and should kids be allowed on social media.

I choose to do mine about zoos. I had to read two articles and a video talking about this topic all of these articles plus the video had diffrent opinons. After we had read this we had to brefly summrie each aritcle then write a paragraph about what article we found the most convincing.

After we finsh all on this we made a venn digram about the pros and cons of zoos. This is my task:

 

The Wahine Disaster

In English we have been looking at New Zealand disasters we looked at three major disasters – The Christchurch Earthquakes, The Ballantynes fire and The Wahine disaster.

I dicided to do the Wahine disaster. The Wahine disaster was a disaster that happend 57 years ago and it was a freak incident involving a boat and a storm. Our task was to write a infomation report explaning our choosen disaster.

Then we filled out a slide that had What I already know, What I want to know and what I have learned,

Next we used words from the text that we didn’t know and wrote the definiton and a compound sentence using that word.

The not so Evil Queen

This week in writing we are learning about fairy tales, myths, legends and folk tales.

On Wensday we wrote a short story and had three options to write about:

The Modern Twist: Choose a classic fairy tale, folk tale, myth, or legend and imagine it happening in the present day. How would the characters, setting, and events be different? Write a short story (2-3 paragraphs) describing a key scene from this modern retelling.

The Villain’s Side: Task: Every story has a villain. Choose a well-known villain from a fairy tale, folk tale, myth, or legend. Write a short monologue (a speech where the character talks to themselves or the reader) explaining their motivations. Why did they do the things they did? Do they think they were right?

The Magical Object: Task: Think about a magical object from a fairy tale, folk tale, myth, or legend (e.g., a magic wand, a talking mirror, a golden apple). Imagine you have found this object. Write a short story (2-3 paragraphs) about what happens when you use it for the first time. What do you try to do? What are the unexpected consequences?

My Wonderful Writing Workbook

For writing this term we have been making a writing workbook we have been doing complex sentences, expanding sentences and sentences and fragments. We have also been doing punctuation like capital letters, full stops and commas.

Sentence Structure

The first slide we focesed on fragments and made fragments into full sentences with a buddy.                                                                                                                                        The second slide was also about fragments and diciding witch sentences were fragmemts and witch were sentences.                                                                                                The third slide we unscrambled sentences.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The forth slide we did expanding sentences from a simple to a complex.                                                                                                                                                                                We did the same thing on the Fifth slide.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        On slide six we expanded sentences using because, but and so.                                                                                                                                                                                                On slide seven we identifed the indepent clase a sentence that can stand by itself and a depent clause that can not.                                                                                                    The next activity we did was turning a simple sentence into a compound and a complex sentence.                                                                                                                                  Our last activity we filled in the blanks.

Punctuation

The First activity was to fix the punctuation in the text.                                                                                                                                                                                                              The second activity was to put comma in the sentences.                                                                                                                                                                                                              The third activity was to put speech mark were they need to go.                                                                                                                                                                                                The last activity was to make a comic mine is on slide 16.

Last week in RE we made a song about lent. We were in group and made the songs on Suno, we wrote what we wanted it to sound like and be about then it made two songs for us. My group and I chose a song and put it on a google video this is our song!

The Great Gospel of the week

This weeks gospel was Lk 21:25-28. 34-36 this is the gospel. We talked about what it was about and a phrase that stood out to us. After this we answered some questions on our slide these are my answers.

What word, phrase or sentence stood out to you and why?

“Every power in the sky will be shaken” Because I think it is God’s way of telling us to prepare for the second coming when it happens.

What does Advent mean and what do we do during the season of Advent?

Advent means Coming. In Advent we prepare for Christmas.
